Question and Answers sections:

Q: What should I bring with me when going fishing with a Mosquito Lagoon Guide?
A: Sunscreen, Polarized sunglasses, Food and Drinks. All fishing tackle and licenses are provided by the Captain, as well as the finest fishing equipment on the market. If you would like to bring your rod, please contact the Captain and tell him that you are bringing your own equipment. During the summer, please make sure that you bring plenty of fluids. The Captain has cooler with Ice for all drinks that you can bring and need.

Q: Should I tip the Captain?
A: Great question, and hard to explain. I have always tipped the Captain when I go fishing. If the day is outstanding, it is a nice gesture to give a little extra as a thank you. Most Captains, I believe expect a decent tip if you have a good day out on the water. I have been poled around on a flats boat for more than 6 hours with my father on a trip and we only caught a couple large reds. The Captain worked very hard to put us on fish, but dad was not a good caster and we lost out on a couple chances with fish. We gave a large tip, as the Captain really worked his behind off to give us chances, and also poled us around most of the day.

Q: What should I expect on a good day?
A: Weather is the most determining factor when fishing the Lagoon. Windy days make sight fishing hard for the best Guides out there. On calm days, catching double digit Redfish is not uncommon. During the summer months, large redfish school up for breeding, and you have many opportunities to catch 30+ pound Redfish.

Q: How do I get in touch with one of the Captains on this site?
A: When you visit the Captains page, on the bottom is an email link for the Captain. Please send him an email with the date you would like to go fishing, and also your phone number so that he can get in touch with you. If you have any questions, please email me or the Captain, and one of us will help out with anything that we can.
